The benefit of creating and using pointers to music files in the Library is that you can create customized sublibraries, called playlists, of songs you want to hear. If iTunes can't find a song you have added to the Library, see "iTunes Can't Find a Song in My Library" in the "Troubleshooting" section at the end of this chapter. In the lower pane, select the song you want to listen to and click the Play button, or just double-click the song. To see all the contents of a selected item again, click All. In the Content pane of the window, all the tracks on the selected album are listed. To see the tracks on that album, click its name in the Album column. In the Album pane, all the albums for that artist are shown.

The real power of iTunes is in the capability to completely customize your music.
